Well, we are officially through the “Fourth Trimester,” as I’ve heard it called. And although Knox is a really good baby, I can understand why the first 3 months received that nickname. Over the past few weeks, Knox’s little personality has really started to show, and his sleeping habits are getting more consistent. We’re able to have more of a routine to our lives as a little family, and I’m feeling more and more confident about stepping out of the house with him in tow. (I partially blame it on the winter bitterness + cold/flu season, but for the first 2 1/2 months of his little life, I hardly left our house…)
This has been an especially fun month, as Knox’s little personality has been coming out so much more. He smiles and giggles, and is just so incredibly happy. He is an absolute joy, and half the time I get sad when nap or bed time comes along because it means I can’t hang out with him any longer! Each new milestone he reaches makes me so proud of him, and amazes me as I watch him figure out his world and his abilities. I try to remember that each day is a gift from the Lord, and even when somedays are more difficult than others, I thank God for choosing me to be his mommy.
He’s getting to be quite the chunk, quickly growing out of his 0-3 month clothes, and now wearing 3-6 month outfits. (But I mean, who doesn’t love a baby with rolls!)
It’s been fun to see how he can light up Stuart’s face with his smiles, and how their little bond is growing. I know it can be tough for dads in the first few months, as there’s not a whole lot for them to do, and baby’s aren’t very responsive in the beginning. But now that Knox is reacting to us and getting more playful, Stuart can’t get enough of him. I just know those two are going to be inseparable as Knox grows up, and I’m so thankful Knox has such an amazing role model to look up to.
Knoxie boy, we just love you so much!! May you always know how special you are, and that Jesus created you to be exactly YOU!! You are the light of our lives, and we can’t wait to see the little boy you continue to grow into. Keep smiling, and never grow out of your cheeks!!
xoxo, Mommy + Daddy
