How my mommy meltdown saved my life and marriage.

“I HATE YOU!! I CAN’T GIVE YOU WHAT YOU NEED!!!”

Yes, just a few weeks ago, those harsh words came out of my mouth, directed towards my husband. He just wanted to go fishing, and I cracked. My life felt out of control and too much for me to handle all of the sudden. A simple request from him to go fishing was the straw that broke this mama’s back.

february books! thanks to audio books i’ve been february books! thanks to audio books i’ve been able to “read” more books than ever. i don’t know how i ever lived without this discovery! #yesimanerd

1. the duke and i by julia quinn. this was a fun read after watching bridgerton. it’s a lot less scandalous than the show, so if you’re looking for an easy chick lit series to get lost in, this is great! looking forward to listening to the rest!

2. the escape room by megan goldin. i read this after loving the night swim by goldin. if you suffer from claustrophobia like i do, i would warn you this book will make you anxious the whole time you’re reading it. a group of people are stuck in an elevator for most of the book. i def liked the night swim better but this wasn’t bad.

3. the jane austen society by natalie jenner. this has been on my tbr for a while and it didn’t disappoint. for fans of the guernsey literary and potato peel pie society and jane austen books this is a must read! now give me all the jane austen books i haven’t read!

4. i am pilgrim by terry hays. i brought this with me to florida and while it definitely wasn’t the beachy fluff i normally read on vacation i absolutely loved it!! it was strange to read it during covid since it’s about a possible virus terrorist attack, but it was a great read.

5. winter in paradise by elin hilderbrand. this was the first book in the paradise series and it was super fun! already listening to #2!

6. a court of thorns and roses by sarah j maas this is a reread because the 4th book just came out! reminding myself of all the fun of the first 3 books. this is a super fun series but a tad R rated in places.

7. no exit by taylor adams. last but most definitely not least! i could NOT put this book down last night and read 2/3 of the book in one sitting, finishing at 1am 😬 this book reads like a nail-biting, sitting-on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspenseful movie. it was fabulous and so fast paced! whew i’m still recovering ha!

all in all, i loved my february books! what did you read last month (or anytime!) i love hearing recommendations!

i took a lil break from social media for the month i took a lil break from social media for the month of january. it was glorious.

what you missed: zeke got a hair cut (finally, but yes i miss his long hair).

we saw our grand fam and the cousins played together so sweetly!

we read lots of books. (and watched lots of scooby doo.)

we got back into homeschool, in our new homeschool room! (God bless our new house!)

we started making this house our home. we are in love.

we made fitness and healthy eating a priority. (and had an uninvited guest insert himself into some of our workouts 🙄😂)

we watched 2 of our faves rock it on the baskeball court.

we snuggled with Cros...a lot ♥️

and we did crafts. (much to my dismay lol)

it was a fab month...and i need to take more social media breaks. but for now i’m back! 👋🏼🤗
starting off the new year right! such a fun walk a starting off the new year right! such a fun walk at stroud preserve.

signing off social media for at least the next month...so if you have any exciting news, text me! or go super old school and call me 😉

till next time! ❌⭕️❌⭕️
4 years old! to know zeke is to love him. and roll 4 years old! to know zeke is to love him. and roll your eyes a lot.

happy birthday to my curly-haired second born. who is incredibly independent, stubborn, difficult, but also the sweetest, most cuddly boy ever.

he likes to do things on his own, in his own time. i know these characteristics will do him well later in life, so it takes everything in me to spur him on in the right way. but man has he ever tested my patience and reliance on the Lord.

he was our little surprise, but one i continually thank God for every day. life would be a lot less chaotic and fun without you, zekey boy!! can’t wait to see what’s in store for you this next year! 💙💙💙💙

(see stories for more pics...choosing just 10 was rough!! 😉)

SIX. my firstborn is 6 years old. it now takes 2 h SIX. my firstborn is 6 years old. it now takes 2 hands to show how old he is.

i can’t believe i’ve been a mom for 6 years, and yet it’s hard to remember life before knox. he introduced me to motherhood, a deeper dependence on the Lord, and the love between a boy and his mama.

his generosity amazes me, his love for his little brother (and crosby) is super sweet and the depth of his forgiveness is vast.

i’m so lucky to be his mama.
