Top 5 Books of 2017

2017 brought about a lot of great things…Stranger Things Season 2, Star Wars whatever number we’re on, Tay went bad girl, “Salt Bae” happened, men started wearing rompers, and I read 27+ books! (I say 27+ because I only started recording them in March, but I know I read some Jan and Feb, I just didn’t blog about them.)

I wanted to whittle my list down to my top 5, since I’ve been getting a lot of requests for book suggestions lately, but let me tell you, it was a lot harder than it seems!

First Focus // September

FIRST FOCUS

Goals. They’re great. They really are. They help us aim for something, work for something, and feel accomplished.

However, sometimes I can aim too high, or life gets uber busy, or let’s face it, I just don’t get to it.

So this  month, instead of monthly goals, I’m sharing some of the thing I’ve been focusing on lately. I don’t know why, but this perspective feels more like an enjoyable journey, instead of the destination of success or failure.

After our super busy summer, it’s been SO wonderful to be home and get back to a [somewhat] consistent routine.

April Goals.

Yesterday I woke up to Stuart reminding me that it was April Fools Day, just incase I read/saw/heard anything strange or out of the ordinary. (I tend to be slightly gullible at times…) But I still totally fell for a fake post by a Disney World site saying that Cinderella’s Castle was being redone to be “Elsa’s Ice Castle.” I was all hot and bothered and on my way to full blown outrage when Stuart pointed out that it was most likely an April Fools joke.

A Different Kind of March Madness.

I do realize that by using the phrase “March Madness” in the name of this post, it may give the impression that it has something to do with basketball or sports in general. It doesn’t, sorry. It’s actually about something I have decided to do for the month of March, that may seem like madness to some people (including me! Ha!)

I’m quitting Facebook.

Yep, you read that right.

Baby Grand is Growing + September Goals

22 Weeks

Well, I think I’ve officially entered into the stage of looking for sure pregnant…as opposed to maybe pregnant or maybe just chubby. It’s still a weird kind of mental switch to change the thought of a growing mid-section to being a good thing, instead of a sign of needing to diet ASAP. But thankfully, those intensifying kicks remind me that as my tummy grows, so does a lil babe inside!

There’s not a ton new to report about Baby Grand this week…other than his/her kicks and movements are definitely growing stronger than ever!

Oh, hey February.

I don’t know about you, but personally, it feels like January flewwww by. The holidays came and went quickly and then the beginning of January switched gears and felt like it was dragging. But now it seems like I blinked and hello, it’s February! And let’s be honest, besides being the “love month,” February can be pretty bleak. The snow has officially lost it’s magic and beauty, and now it’s just cold, wet and annoying.

Goodbye 2013, Hello 2014.

2013

2013 was fab. So many wonderful things happened, and the best part was sharing them with my little family of 3. Before I look forward to the 2014, (and I’m really looking forward to this year) I wanted to look back at my goals for December to see how I did!

My goals for December were:

  • Start a new workout. Stuart and I started doing Crossfit in December!

5 Days Later…

First of all…happy Friday! We’re in Xenia, Ohio right now and it’s a very snowy, wintery morning. I would normally love this, except that Stuart and I are driving back to his parents tonight for the weekend, so hopefully the roads will clear up and be safe! But hey, snow or not, it’s FRIDAY! Yay!

Quick update on my December challenge:

I’ve only been officially gluten-free for 5 days so far…which may seem like not a lot, but for me, the fact that I can honestly say I’ve been gluten-FREE for 5 days is a big deal.
