What I Read This Summer

If you’re anything like me, you’ll agree there is just not enough time in the day to read all the books that you’d like. Especially if you add in children and traveling. I way overestimated my time and ability to read when we were traveling this summer, and brought about 10 books with me, and guess how many I read while we were away?

0.

Oh I read a couple chapters here and there of books, but I didn’t finish one of them.

[Insert rolling eyes emoji here.]

But that’s one thing that makes me excited about the fall.

Cloth Diapering 101 [from a mom who went from overwhelmed to LOVE]

I’ve recently had a lot of moms or soon-to-be-moms ask me questions about cloth diapering. And even though there are already a bazillion different opinions and informative posts out there, I thought I’d give my two cents and write my own informative post based off of some of the FAQ’s I’ve received. Because cloth diapering can seriously be overwhelming, I know I felt that way when I began researching it, but I have come to really, really love cloth diapering!

What I Read: March & April

Do you remember “Book It?”

medium_bookit

Oh goodness I loved Book It. Reading books for free pizza? Sign me up. (Is there an adult version of this??) I’ve always been a big reader, and as I’ve gotten older and entered the blogging world, some of my favorite blog posts to read are book reviews. Even though I have a 42 million unread books on my book shelf, I’m such a sucker for a good book recommendation.

Being a mom has definitely put a damper on the amount of books I read per month, but I found that if I make it a priority, (less TV, being more productive during the day so I can relax and read after my kids’ bedtime) I can actually read a good amount!

10 Confessions of a 2nd Time Mom

My youngest son, Zeke, is 3 months old, and we still have yet to take his 2 or 3 month pictures. You know the ones you take each month to see how they look each month through their first year? Yup, we’re off to a fabulous start. When I was pregnant with Zeke, other moms of multiples would tell me all the time how different it’d be this time around, since it’s not just a baby, but a baby AND a toddler.

There are many things that have felt easier this time around…for example, I don’t experience the paranoia of having absolutely NO idea what I’m doing, since I’ve been through it before.

Chief.

My Uncle Robbie passed away this week. He was actually my great-uncle, my grandfather’s brother, and even though that sounds really distant, I loved him dearly. But I wasn’t the only one. My Uncle Robbie was really special to a lot of people.

Some knew him as Bob, some knew him as Robert or Robbie, but a lot of people actually knew him simply as “Chief.”

But I’m getting ahead of myself.

She Reads Truth

Have you heard of “She Reads Truth”?? It’s a website and an app that encourage and give women an easy way to be in the Word of God every day. Not only that, but it’s a community of women reading through the Word of God TOGETHER daily. But if you wish to read through something other than what is the daily reading, there are a bunch of other reading plans you can use for your own daily devotions.

But now, not only is it a website and an app, but it’s also a book! She Reads Truth the book is the stories of the founders of She Reads Truth, Raechel Myers and Amanda Bible Williams.

Zeke Isaiah.

You want to know something weird? I should still be pregnant. For another week at least. My original due date was January 22nd. But here we are, a week before my due date with a 2 week old baby! All “thanks” to high blood pressure, just like my pregnancy with Knox. And let me tell you, that’s not the only thing that caused deja vu to my pregnancy with Knox.

Before you find out the gender of your baby [IF you find out] lots of people will ask you how similar your pregnancies feel or if you have some idea as to the gender of your baby.

“Buh Bye Baby.”

Dear Knox,

I’ve said a lot of goodbyes in my day. Before you were born, I lived in a different city every year for 5 years, and had to say bye to a lot of good friends as I moved away. Not to mention the tears that come when we have to say bye to your grandparents, aunts and uncles every time a visit comes to an end.

20 Thoughts that go through your mind during a 20 week pregnancy ultrasound

Last week Stuart and I had our big 20 week ultrasound for baby #2! I already shared about some emotions that occur during pregnancy, but that’s only part of it! There are so many thoughts running through your mind during that quick 30 minutes, and I thought I’d share some with you!

  1. Good thing this is my husband sitting next to me, cause she wants me to roll my pants down pretty darn low.
  2. Geez that gel stuff is freezing.

Boymom round 2!

Yep, I’m pregnant! And yep, just last week we found out that I’m remaining in the boymom club! [For now ;)]

Blog Announcement Pic

There are so many emotions that go through your mind as you walk into [and out of] the ultrasound room when you find out the gender of your baby. But our rollercoaster of pregnancy emotions didn’t begin there. This has been a TOUGH pregnancy, friends. Let’s rewind a bit…

At the end of April I started having crazy dreams, and began freaking out thinking I was pregnant.
