One.

One year ago today I became Mrs. Stuart Grandlienard. It was by far the best day of my life, and for those who know me well, it wasn’t simply because it was a whole day all about me! (Although it was definitely fun feeling as close to a Princess as I probably ever will for a day.) It was so special to have so many of our friends and family all in one room to see us become husband and wife, then to dance the night away with us afterwards!

One of the biggest “eye-openers” about marriage for me was realizing that some of the habits you have when you’re single…you know, the ones you’ll work on “someday,” suddenly become very visible and not something you can hide anymore. For example, I am HORRIBLE with time management. Most of the time I just don’t plan correctly for how long something may take.

Like dinner.

I don’t always account for how long it may take to cook dinner and we end up eating at 8:30. A lot. When I was single it didn’t really matter what time I ate, but all the sudden I had a hungry husband on my hands. (And he does really try to be understanding with his new wife, who was also very new to cooking, but I mean, he’s a guy and he was hungry.) Soooo I had to work on that real quick…and I’m still working on it.

But even on the days when dinner was late, and I had to send Stuart to the store because I forgot an ingredient, becoming Mrs. Grandlienard has definitely been one of the biggest blessings of my life. I thank God everyday for answering my prayers to bring a me a caring, strong, godly man to lead me for the rest of my life.

I’ve had so much fun looking back over the pictures from our wedding for this post. Jennifer Baumann did a phenomenal job with our pictures and I couldn’t be happier to have my favorite moments captured so well. She even captured the little details of our day like the amazing watermelon sculpture the chef made!

When we began to plan our wedding, one of the first things I knew I wanted, was for it to be a FUN day for everyone. Well I hope the fun factor was across the board, but for me one thing I remember was constantly laughing and having fun all. day. long.

And as if I didn’t include enough pictures already…(there are just so many fabulous ones to choose from!) here are some more faves from the day.

One year together, many, many more to go. I love you Stuart Jordan!!
