Dear Baby Grand // 36 Weeks

Dear Baby Grand

Dear Baby Grand,

There’s only around 4 weeks until your Daddy and I get to meet you! I can’t believe how fast this time has gone. Although I am going to miss your kicks and movements safe inside my womb, I cannot wait to see exactly what (and who!) you look like. Will you have dark hair like your Dad, or blonde hair like me? Will you have your Dad’s blue eyes, or my hazel eyes? Most people swear you’ll be born with a beard like your Dad’s famous one, but we’ll see about that one…

I think my nights of good sleep are officially over, since I get up about 5 times a night to go to the bathroom, only to lay back down and have you either kicking my ribs, or hiccuping. (I wonder if you can get bruised or cracked ribs from baby kicks?) And when the “pregnancy pee’s” are over, it means you’ll be here and probably keeping me up all hours of the night. But you know what, sweet boy? As much as I LOVE sleep, (and I really, REALLY love it) I know you will be worth every exhausted moment and I’ll just want to stare at your face all night long, not minding trading my precious sleep for the joy of being your Mommy.

So keep growing big and strong in there dear boy, (but feel free to curb your strength when using it against my ribs…) and know that we are anxiously and excitedly awaiting your arrival. And if you could, I would be very appreciative if you’d make your entrance faster than slower, and sooner than later. :) But know that for now, your Daddy and I are trusting the words of Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” We know you’ll come when you’re ready, and when you’re Heavenly Father plans it to happen. And that’s all we could ever want.

I cannot wait to hold you in my arms and kiss your sweet face.

Love,

Mommy

PS, Stell says she can’t wait to meet you too, and lick your face all over. She’s been cuddling you a lot, and has been quite protective over your growing bump these past few weeks. I just know you two will be the best of friends.
