10 Confessions of a 2nd Time Mom

My youngest son, Zeke, is 3 months old, and we still have yet to take his 2 or 3 month pictures. You know the ones you take each month to see how they look each month through their first year? Yup, we’re off to a fabulous start. When I was pregnant with Zeke, other moms of multiples would tell me all the time how different it’d be this time around, since it’s not just a baby, but a baby AND a toddler.

There are many things that have felt easier this time around…for example, I don’t experience the paranoia of having absolutely NO idea what I’m doing, since I’ve been through it before.

April Goals.

Yesterday I woke up to Stuart reminding me that it was April Fools Day, just incase I read/saw/heard anything strange or out of the ordinary. (I tend to be slightly gullible at times…) But I still totally fell for a fake post by a Disney World site saying that Cinderella’s Castle was being redone to be “Elsa’s Ice Castle.” I was all hot and bothered and on my way to full blown outrage when Stuart pointed out that it was most likely an April Fools joke.

A Bible You Can Cuddle.

I have always LOVED to read. When I was younger I remember being so engrossed in one of the Harry Potter books, (at one of those really intense, “will Harry get killed this time??” moments,) that when my mom opened my bedroom door, I jumped off the bed and the book went flying from my hands. I love getting so lost in a book it felt like you were living life in those pages.

One of my hopes for Knox is that he will fall in love with reading as much as I did. (Looks like he’s well on his way!) I know so much of our culture spends its’ time in front of the TV, but I want him to experience the creativity of picturing what the characters look like, instead of that information being easily provided for him on a screen.

71 Weeks Later…

Pssst, Knox has some “beary” exciting news to share with you…

71 weeks ago, Stuart and I began a journey that completely changed our lives. We uprooted ourselves, put all our belongings in his parents basement, became nomads, and began raising support for our new ministry with Athletes in Action.

Before we starting raising funds, we attended a training conference where we met some amazing other people who were also beginning their journey of raising support.

HELLO THIRD TRIMESTER.

Pregnant Walk

I was babysitting yesterday and just had to document the moment when I realized I could hardly see my toes anymore, I was totally rocking the third trimester waddle (um, third trimester…what?!?!?) and I had to pee about five minutes into the walk and had to turn around way before I wanted to in order to get back to a bathroom. Also, pregnancy brain is in FULL force (can some moms out there please tell Stuart it’s a real thing??!) and I forgot to take a belly bump picture, so the view from the top will have to do for this week :)

So, yep, I’m officially in my third trimester, and have about 3 months until our little babe joins our family.

Two.

Two years ago I became the luckiest girl ever when this stud became my husband:

Stud Husband

And from that day forward life has been a RIDE. The absolute best ride of my life. Marriage is definitely not easy, but it’s so worth the hard times and challenges you face because you have someone who’s always willing to fight for you. I can be pretty darn stubborn at times, and Stuart has learned the best way to push when he needs to, and give me space when I need some.

Baby Grand is Growing // Week 21

Week 21

So far, this week has definitely been less “exciting” than last week…but I’m definitely not complaining! It’s been relaxing, restful and spent feeling my lil babe’s increasingly stronger kicks. One of the highlights was definitely going to my friend Sarah’s baby shower…especially when we hugged hello and our bellies bumped! She’s due in October and I’m so excited to have little baby friends with her!

Bump Pic with Sarah

There’s not too much to report about Baby Grand this week since from now on most of his/her energy and growing is simply getting bigger, chubbier and stronger.

Plain Faith…an Amish Book Review.

Plain Faith

I grew up in Chester County, Pennsylvania, which is really close to Lancaster, a fairly large Amish community. In addition, for the past 6 months, I lived in Bluffton, Indiana, which is also really close to an amish community. So when I saw the preview for Plain Faith, I was immediately drawn in. Since I’ve lived near communities of Amish so much of my life, I wanted to read a story from an Amish person’s point of view.

5 Things Friday.

I thought it was the perfect time to bring back another “5 Things Friday” post! Just a random list of 5 things going on in my life that I want to share! Just because…why not? :)

  1. So, has anyone else watched an episode of Disney Channel’s “Girl Meets World”? I’m not gonna lie, I was super curious about how they were going to pull it off…I used to be obsessed with the whole Boy Meets World gang.

6 Way St.

6 Way St.

You know those friends you make in life, where no matter how often (or seldom) you see them, you just know they have your back and will always be there for you? In my life, I’m blessed to have many friends who fit that category, but 6 of them make up the band, “6 Way Street.” And they are just plain awesome.

I met Steve, Chris, Crystal, KB, Candace and “Mace” two years ago when I moved to Indianapolis.
