I’ve been a mom for four years now. And for most of that time, I’ve been a stay-at-home mom. I think it’s safe to say that if you look at our weekly schedules, you and I live in two very different worlds. But both of our worlds encompass life as mothers. And because we’re both moms, we’re on the same team.
Do you know how many articles, memes, gifs, and cartoons there are out there that talk about moms in yoga pants? Moms with messy hair. Moms who haven’t showered in days. Moms who are wearing yesterday’s clothes. (Probably yoga pants.)
Even before I became a mom, I anticipated motherhood to mean not caring as much about what I wore, what I looked like or how long it had been since I showered.
“I HATE YOU!! I CAN’T GIVE YOU WHAT YOU NEED!!!”
Yes, just a few weeks ago, those harsh words came out of my mouth, directed towards my husband. He just wanted to go fishing, and I cracked. My life felt out of control and too much for me to handle all of the sudden. A simple request from him to go fishing was the straw that broke this mama’s back.
Friends. I have to be honest with you about something.
I’m addicted to my phone.
Like, for real.
I know most of our generation is also addicted, and it’s a millennial thing, yadda yadda yadda. But I’m sick of it. I’m sick of NEEDING my screen. I’m sick of it being the first thing I look at when I wake up, and the last thing I look at before I go to sleep.
I’ve recently had a lot of moms or soon-to-be-moms ask me questions about cloth diapering. And even though there are already a bazillion different opinions and informative posts out there, I thought I’d give my two cents and write my own informative post based off of some of the FAQ’s I’ve received. Because cloth diapering can seriously be overwhelming, I know I felt that way when I began researching it, but I have come to really, really love cloth diapering!
You want to know something weird? I should still be pregnant. For another week at least. My original due date was January 22nd. But here we are, a week before my due date with a 2 week old baby! All “thanks” to high blood pressure, just like my pregnancy with Knox. And let me tell you, that’s not the only thing that caused deja vu to my pregnancy with Knox.
I’ve said a lot of goodbyes in my day. Before you were born, I lived in a different city every year for 5 years, and had to say bye to a lot of good friends as I moved away. Not to mention the tears that come when we have to say bye to your grandparents, aunts and uncles every time a visit comes to an end.
Last week Stuart and I had our big 20 week ultrasound for baby #2! I already shared about some emotions that occur during pregnancy, but that’s only part of it! There are so many thoughts running through your mind during that quick 30 minutes, and I thought I’d share some with you!
- Good thing this is my husband sitting next to me, cause she wants me to roll my pants down pretty darn low.
Yep, I’m pregnant! And yep, just last week we found out that I’m remaining in the boymom club! [For now ;)]
There are so many emotions that go through your mind as you walk into [and out of] the ultrasound room when you find out the gender of your baby. But our rollercoaster of pregnancy emotions didn’t begin there. This has been a TOUGH pregnancy, friends. Let’s
I can’t even believe I’m writing this post. Has it seriously already been a year?! It’s crazy to think 12 months have gone by since that amazing, little boy entered our lives. I know it’s “only” been a year, but it’s hard to remember what life was like before miniature laundry, diapers, sippy cups, Duplos [the big Legos], fox EVERYTHING and remote controls that sing to you.
