Zeke Isaiah.

You want to know something weird? I should still be pregnant. For another week at least. My original due date was January 22nd. But here we are, a week before my due date with a 2 week old baby! All “thanks” to high blood pressure, just like my pregnancy with Knox. And let me tell you, that’s not the only thing that caused deja vu to my pregnancy with Knox.

Before you find out the gender of your baby [IF you find out] lots of people will ask you how similar your pregnancies feel or if you have some idea as to the gender of your baby.

“Buh Bye Baby.”

Dear Knox,

I’ve said a lot of goodbyes in my day. Before you were born, I lived in a different city every year for 5 years, and had to say bye to a lot of good friends as I moved away. Not to mention the tears that come when we have to say bye to your grandparents, aunts and uncles every time a visit comes to an end.

All Fox Everything.

As you could probably tell from my last post on Knox’s fox themed birthday parties, we love all things fox. [Cuz it rhymes with Knox…duh.] I had a fox themed nursery in mind before Knox was even born, and it’s shaped up to be everything I hoped for!

I’ve been meaning to post pictures of his nursery for months, but I’m glad I didn’t, because now it includes the last touch of his first birthday high chair banner hung on the wall!

What Does the Fox Say?

What does the fox say? “Happy birthday Knox!” that’s what.

Ha…but for real, due to the rhyming nature of Knox and fox, I anticipate we will milk this theme for all it’s worth for years to come. And because foxes are so darn cute, I’m totally ok with re-using the same theme multiple times over.

We tried our best to celebrate Knox’s first year as much as we could.

Watch Knox Grow // 12 MONTHS

I can’t even believe I’m writing this post. Has it seriously already been a year?! It’s crazy to think 12 months have gone by since that amazing, little boy entered our lives. I know it’s “only” been a year, but it’s hard to remember what life was like before miniature laundry, diapers, sippy cups, Duplos [the big Legos], fox EVERYTHING and remote controls that sing to you.

On 2016, Mom Life and Turning 30.

Mom Life

You guys, life is just funny. I’ve recently realized that when I think I have it all figured out, I really don’t. “Mom life” is like trying to juggle 52 balls in the air, and realizing you can only handle 1 at a time. In reality, for me, that means just as I’m getting the hang of the mom thing, the rest of it just becomes really tough…being a good wife, a healthy cook/eater, keeping our home clean, trying to get the baby weight off [yes, it’s still there, a year later…] and trying to spend time doing things I enjoy like reading and blogging and showering.

Watch Knox Grow // 11 Months

11 month Collage

It’s getting real friends. T minus ONE MONTH until ONE YEAR.

I know this next month is going to FLY by. Partially because just when you want time to slow down, it seems to speed up, but also because we’re entering into the holiday season. When I was little it seemed like the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas took 3 months instead of 1, and now that I’m an adult, and especially as a mom, it seems to take one day.

Watch Knox Grow // 10 Months

knox 10 months

10 month CollageThis has been a super fun month with Knox. He’s definitely keeping us on our toes, as he’s crawling EVERYWHERE and pulling himself up on anything possible, and reaching for anything and everything, which of course goes straight into his mouth! [His current “naughty” favorites…TV remotes, Stella’s tennis balls, and clean diapers…]

It’s getting sooo surreal that he’s only 2 months away from being ONE YEAR OLD.

Watch Knox Grow // 9 months

9 months

9 month collage

[Ummmm it’s definitely getting harder to get these monthly pictures…above is the progression that took place about 849302843902 times before we got one we could use. And I emphasize that we got ONE that we could use.]

9 months. Knox has officially been outside the womb longer than he was inside. Pregnancy seemed to encompass years, while the past 9 months have felt like ONE.
